BMI Calculator
A Body Mass Index is a tool used to indicate the healthy average adult by
comparing your weight and height. To find out what your BMI is, enter your
information in the fields below.
How do you change your BMI?
By becoming a member of Curves you have already taken the first step to begin
to lower your BMI and decrease your risk for certain diseases. Regular exercise
and a healthy eating regimen can help you to lose weight.
Additional Information
- Muscle weighs more than fat; a high percentage of lean muscle can actually
increase your BMI. To get the most accurate Body Mass Index, go to your Curves
location and have the staff perform an Omron reading.
- Women are more likely to have a higher percentage of body fat than men for
the same BMI.
- BMI is interpreted differently for children and teens, ages 2 to 20. For
specific information for your child or teen, please contact your pediatrician.
- Some common health problems associated to BMI ranges within overweight and
obese categories include cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure,
Osteoarthritis, some cancers, and Diabetes. It is important to note that BMI
is only one of many factors used to predict risk for disease.
